FEARLESS FRIDAY: What I Didn't Know I Was Missing

Until I Started Showing Up for Myself

This summer didn’t come with any big fireworks or reinventions. Just one quiet realization that changed everything:

I’ve been showing up for everyone… except myself.

It hit me late one night, standing in my bathroom, holding my empty exfoliant bottle—realizing I’d been “meaning” to reorder it for weeks and hadn’t. Because I was too busy. Too tired. Too in-the-middle-of-life.

And yet? I missed it. I missed how that one simple step made me feel like me again.

The Real Glow-Up? It Was Never About Skincare.

Sure, I love what a good clean exfoliant does for my skin (hello, glow). But it’s what it does for my spirit that caught me off guard.

Because when I don’t make time for myself—even just five minutes at the sink—it shows. Not just in my skin, but in my energy. My patience. My confidence. It’s wild how something as simple as skincare can be the mirror that reflects what’s really going on.

I Used to Say "I Don't Have Time"—Now I Know the Truth

The truth? I had the time. I just didn’t believe I deserved to spend it on me. And wow, that realization hits deep. Because how many of us are moving through life like that? Prioritizing everyone else. Telling ourselves we’ll get to our own needs “later.” But later never comes. And we don’t notice how much we’ve shrunk until we finally choose to take up space again.

For me, it started with skincare. Just one act of care turned into a moment of presence. And those moments? They stack up. They shift how you carry yourself. How you show up for the rest of your life.

What I Learned About Myself This Summer

  • That I’ve been running on empty for longer than I realized

  • That

small daily rituals (yes, even skincare) are acts of emotional nourishment

  • That confidence isn’t something you wake up with—it’s something you build by showing up for yourself

  • That glow doesn’t come from a bottle—but a good bottle helps 😉

To the Woman Who Feels Like She's on the Back Burner

I see you. You're not selfish for wanting time for yourself. You’re not dramatic for needing space, care, or comfort.

You're a whole human being who deserves to feel good in her skin—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

And whether that starts with a 3-minute skincare routine, a hot coffee in silence, or a walk around the block alone—it matters.

My Skincare May Be Simple, But It's Not Just About Skin
